O mnie

Nazywam się Jan van Steenbergen. Jestem z urodzenia Holendrem, z wykształcenia tłumaczem polsko-niderlandzkim, dziennikarzem oraz znawcą kultury polskiej, a z zamiłowania językotwórcą. Od 1997 roku jestem tłumaczem freelance; jako taki pracowałem m.in. w Centrum Tłumaczeń dla Organów Unii Europejskiej (Luksemburg), w Urzędzie Oficjalnych Publikacji Wspólnot Europejskich (Luksemburg) i dla firmy Translavic BV.

Jako polskoznawca zajmuję się od wielu lat debatami publicznymi, pisaniem artykułów (od 2007 jestem redaktorem dwumiesięcznika Ablak) itd. Dysponuję również doświadczeniem w dziedzinie IT: w latach 2001-2007 pracowałem jako programista Cool:Gen (Advantage:Gen) i COBOL w ABN-Amro Bank NV w Amsterdamie.
